Sharlene's art has been accepted by Circle Foundation for the Arts which was created in 2017 and functions as an international arts platform, annually representing a unique, juried selection of visual artists in its online gallery. Although many artists apply for membership, its goal is to maintain a small and exclusive selection of Featured Artists.
"Observing remarkable art."
CONTEST FINALIST: Circle Foundation recently conducted a contest for one artist to be sponsored by them in the Artexpo New York, March 30 - April 2, 2023 (World Wide Art & Artavita booth). Sharlene was chosen as a Contest Finalist, one of the top 60 out of 302 artists from around the world, for her painting "Ravaged".
Sharlene was invited by Rossocinabro Gallery to exhibit one of her paintings in the 18th edition of Contemporary Day by AMACI (Association of Contemporary Art Museums), which ran from October 1 to 8th,2022 in Rome. XVIII Contemporary Art is an annual project that involves 24 Contemporary Art Museums in Italy and all the most important Galleries and events all over the Country. The painting she selected is Ocean Merkaba which is shown in Gallery One. It was in the Aqua Exhibition. AQUA wants to emphasize individual and collective responsibility for the role and use of this element for our planet and its importance for humans, fauna and flora. When she created this work, her summary of it was:
As an extension of my interest in the cosmos and its power, I have painted and collaged the action of it on our oceans. The merkaba moves the light, spirit and action of the ocean waves to remove the pollution that mankind has cast into the oceans and rivers. In the centre of the painting are crystals to give us hope as we try to do our part in the Great Cleanse of our water.
